Thursday, October 29th, at 11:00 UTC, we will update the Business Catalyst service to include additional liquid and open admin improvements as well as fix some of the core features minor issues. Please find below the detailed list of changes included in the update:
New features and enhancements
- Updated labels and hints for the the "Enable Online Editor" user preference to help Muse users understand the implications of the setting
- Updated some icons in the new editor
- Partners can install or authorize apps on any site they are admin users so that they don't need to transfer the site to their partner portal
- Exposed some user APIs (see the reference documentation for users and roles APIs) - GET roles | Business Catalyst Support and Users | Business Catalyst Support
- Minor updates to web apps geocoding - with this release, we've optimized the algorithm to display the items on the map so that we reduce the likelihood of having items displayed incorrectly; additionally, we'll no longer display items for which we don't have coordinates; in the future releases we are looking to update the geocoding database;
- Allow free partners to mark a site as template; templates will not expire and will not be automatically be deleted by our regular clean up procedures
- Updated new editor to allow users to insert videos from YouTube and Vimeo; users can paste the video URL or the embed strings offered by these video services, see this article for details - How to Embed Videos
- Suppressed default module output when no items are available; read the previous announcement for more details.
- Allow liquid and module rendering inside a few selected tags - with this release, we will allow rendering liquid syntax and modules from the content of a few predefined tags. We will call this process deep rendering. The tags for which we'll allow deep rendering are:
- web apps - description tag in both detail and list layout
- products - description tag in both detail and list layout
- Updated WorldPay integration to use the latest API version and enable access to WorldPay Corporate Gateway
Bug fixes
- 4072718 - improved module_data performance when retrieving products (change has been released earlier through a hot-patch)
- 4000163 - date filters in orders API calls were not using the site timezone
- 4064326 - publishing a draft resets templateId to -1 when calling the Pages Web Resource API
- 3753294, 3918306 , 3836513 - updates the email address validation rules to include the new TLDs
- 4017545 - fixed an issue preventing sort filter from working on lists of objects
- 4070732 - liquid {% raw %} tag doesn't escape code when placed inside a webapp list layout, product small layout, item and product description
